Simplified Security
Having struggled with our share of 5-pound u-locks and unwieldy cables, we salute all explorations toward a more elegant security solution. With the support of the Kickstarter community, the TiGr lock from lock inventor John Loughlin will soon go into production. The TiGr is a flexible titanium bow melded with a highly pick resistant lock cylinder that stores unobtrusively to the top tube with a simple strap solution. Minimalist in design (a plus with us), the designer’s testing indicates that it takes twice as long to cut through a piece of 40mm TiGr stock as it does a steel U-lock. The TiGr is also impervious to bolt cutters.
An interesting idea that we eagerly await to see in effect. More info on the kickstarter
